More pixels can raise the effective PPI at a chosen print size. It does not decide whether the file is print-ready; viewing distance, paper, sharpening, and the printer still matter.

Use the default 2× Topaz model or choose a shared model and output resolution, then check the result before saving.
Choose one JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 20 MB. Avoid screenshots or copies repeatedly compressed by messaging apps when the original file is available.
Use either of the two daily free edits with the default Topaz model, which doubles both dimensions: an 800 × 600 image targets 1600 × 1200. Signed-in users can also choose a shared model and its 1K, 2K, or 4K tier when available.
Compare the source and result around faces, text, fine edges, and textured areas. Choose PNG, JPG, or WebP for the downloaded copy and keep the original file.

The scale factor applies to each dimension. It changes the pixel count and possible display size, but it cannot reveal detail that was never visible in the source.
AI upscaling estimates plausible texture and edges. It can improve how a small image holds up at a larger size, but it does not recover a hidden original or guarantee a lossless result.
For archival records, evidence, exact typography, or brand artwork, compare against the source and use the original file as the authoritative version.
