Free AI Background Remover Online

Separate the subject, keep the edges, and choose PNG, JPG, or WebP.

Upload one portrait, product, pet, or graphic. Enpix detects the foreground subject and removes the surrounding background, then gives you a before-and-after view so you can inspect the cutout before downloading.

Which images work well for background removal?

Clear separation between the subject and its surroundings gives the model the best chance of keeping a clean outline. Fine or low-contrast edges need a closer review.

Product photos

Create a transparent product cutout for a catalog, marketplace listing, slide, or new background. Straight edges and high contrast usually provide a useful starting point.

Check reflections, glass, shadows, and pale products on pale backgrounds.

Portraits & profile images

Separate a person from a room or outdoor scene before placing the portrait in a profile, presentation, or design layout.

Inspect hair, glasses, earrings, fingers, and clothing gaps.

Pets & textured edges

Remove a distracting setting around a pet while keeping as much visible fur as the source allows. Soft focus and similar foreground/background colors remain difficult.

Review whiskers, tail edges, and fur against both light and dark backgrounds.

Logos & simple graphics

Turn a flat-background graphic into a transparent PNG for reuse. When an original SVG or transparent source exists, keep that file as the authoritative asset.

Small type and anti-aliased edges may need manual cleanup.

How to remove a background online

One upload, one automatic cutout, and an edge check before download.

  1. Upload the clearest source

Choose one JPG, PNG, or WebP file up to 20 MB. Use the original image when possible; screenshots and repeated compression make fine edges harder to separate.

  2. Run AI background removal

Use one of the two daily free edits shared across Enpix tools. The model identifies the foreground and prepares a transparent result without requiring a text prompt.

  3. Inspect edges and choose a format

Compare the result around hair, fur, fingers, holes, translucent areas, and shadows. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency, or JPG for a white background.

Where do cutout errors usually appear?

Background removal is a segmentation task. The model must decide which pixels belong to the subject, and ambiguous boundaries can be removed or retained incorrectly.

Hair, fur & fine gaps
Individual strands, whiskers, lace, bicycle spokes, and gaps between fingers contain narrow transitions that are easy to lose.
Low contrast
A brown-haired subject against a brown wall or a white product on a pale surface gives the model less boundary information.
Glass, smoke & shadows
Transparent and semi-transparent areas mix subject and background pixels. Decide whether the retained effect fits the new background.

A transparent file can still have imperfect edges.

The result may look clean on a checkerboard yet reveal a halo, missing detail, or leftover background when placed on a new color. Test the cutout where you plan to use it.

  • Preview the transparent cutout on both a light and a dark background.
  • Zoom in on hair, fur, hands, handles, holes, and thin objects.
  • Check whether contact shadows, glass, or soft edges should remain.

Commercial use depends on the rights to the source image and subject. Removing a background does not grant new rights to an image.

What happens to an image during background removal?

Your image is stored privately for processing and sent to our background-removal provider through KIE. The operation does not happen entirely on your device.

Private storage
Enpix does not publish uploads in a public gallery or use them to train its own models. Provider handling follows the provider’s separate policies.
7-day access
Submitted originals, results, and related task data remain accessible for 7 days from task creation. Unused uploads are scheduled for removal after 24 hours.
Download your result
Save the processed copy before access expires. Recent task history is a convenience, not permanent file storage.
